What makes Maharashtra counselling unique
Six real complexities that trip up families every year. We've engineered our workflow around each of them.
Regional Quota Structure
Maharashtra is split into 3 regions — Vidarbha, Marathwada, Rest of Maharashtra. 70% of state quota is regional. Most counsellors miss this. We don't.
Unique Sub-Categories
VJ, NT-B, NT-C, NT-D, SBC — Maharashtra has sub-category structures no other state has. Each has separate cutoffs and we track them all.
1-Year Rural Bond
Government MBBS requires a mandatory 1-year rural service bond. We help you understand the obligation and penalty before you accept.
Multiple State Authorities
DGE Maharashtra + DMER + State CET operate in parallel windows. We navigate all three simultaneously so you never miss a round.
Domicile Verification
Maharashtra domicile rules are strict — 10 years of residency proof, specific document formats. We verify before you file, not after rejection.
CAP Round Filing Expertise
15+ years of Centralized Admission Process filing. Every quirk of MHT-CET & NEET-CAP portals mapped, tested, documented.

NEET UG Counselling in Maharashtra
Maharashtra is one of India's largest medical education hubs with 64 medical colleges and over 9,070 MBBS seats available through the centralised CAP (Centralised Admission Process) counselling. The process is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell), Maharashtra through the official portal cetcell.mahacet.org.
Maharashtra is a Closed State. Only candidates with valid Maharashtra domicile can apply for 85% state quota seats in government and private colleges. Non-domicile candidates are only eligible for the 15% Institutional/NRI quota in private colleges. Deemed universities (DY Patil, MGM, Symbiosis) are outside CAP scope — their seats are filled via MCC AIQ.

Counselling Process — Step by Step

Register on CET Cell Portal
Visit cetcell.mahacet.org → NEET UG 2026 section. Fill personal + NEET details. Pay fee (₹800 General / ₹600 reserved).
Upload Documents
Upload scanned copies within the specified window. Online verification first — physical verification at the allotted college.
Merit List Publication
CET Cell publishes the Maharashtra state merit list based on NEET UG score + category. Only registered candidates are listed.
Choice Filling — Round 1
Fill and lock your college preferences. Unlike many states, Maharashtra requires fresh preference filling every CAP round — R1 choices do NOT carry forward.
Round 1 Seat Allotment
Choose one of four options: Freeze (accept & exit), Float (accept, upgrade later), Slide (upgrade within same college), Reject (try next round).
Round 2 — Fresh Preferences
Re-fill preferences. Unaccepted + newly released seats available. Often the best strategic round for upgrades.
Mop-Up Round
Final CAP round for remaining unfilled seats. Fresh registration and preference filling required.
Stray Vacancy (Institute Level)
Conducted at institute level for remaining seats. Management Quota (IL) seats are filled by private colleges directly.
Report to College
Download allotment letter → report within specified dates → submit originals → pay fees via DD in the name of Dean/Principal.
